Meet Dr. Rhonda Ellison
Dr. Rhonda Ellison was born and raised on a small farm in Balltown, Iowa. From a very young age, her love for animals was apparent. She grew up on a farm with cows, horses, chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs and cats. She is the Owner of Calera Animal hospital and has been practicing there since November 2000.
Dr. Ellison completed her undergraduate education at University Kentucky, where she received her Bachelor degree in Biology in 1994. She then continued her education at the Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
Dr. Ellison has many passions as well. She loves riding horses and being around cattle. She competes in rodeos in the events of Team Roping and Break Away when she’s not at the hospital. She fondly enjoys creative photography and traveling looking forward to new adventures.
Dr. Ellison is also an active US Air Force Officer with the Air National Guard.
She has a son, J.T., who just started college at University of West Alabama in August 2018 with a major in Pre-Vet. He too loves rodeo sport and competes with his mom and dad.
